Engage is NCVO's membership magazine bringing news, views and analysis from the voluntary sector and the whole of civil society. Originally in the form of a quarterly high-quality printed magazine, Engage has moved online following NCVO member feedback which called for more online services. Serving as a platform for some of the country's best writers on the voluntary sector as well as experts from within NCVO and organisations that they work closely with, Engage has quickly become a must-read for anyone with an interest in Britain's civil society.
The decision by NCVO to finish production of a physical magazine and move to an online-only format presented a great opportunity for a user-centred approach to designing and producing a new web space for the title. Prior to the relaunch, Engage occupied only a few sub-pages of the main NCVO site so it was possible to start from a clean sheet with no pre-conceived ideas or requirements to cater for.
The site features interviews with leading sector experts and celebrities including Mary Portas, Martyn Lewis and Dame Kelly Holmes, and provides a voice for NCVO members in the form of a space for them to tell their stories and share valuable experiences with other readers.
